how mechanically inclined and knowledgeable are you? Do you have a service manual, a lot of time and a bunch of tools?

Is it the chain, or the tensioner? The tensioner is an easy unbolt/ install. If it is the chain. That sucks. Honda is very fiddly. You have to pull the right side fairing to get to that side of the motor. Pull the tank and airbox to expose the valve cover. Pull the cover. Set the motor at top dead center. Remove the cam chain tensioner. Then remove the timing cover. Remove the advacer (not required, but makes it easier). Now the stock chain is a non master link silent chain so you will need to remove the cam shaft retainer caps to release the cams and allow removal of the chain from the cam sprockets. Once the chain is off the cams you can work it off the crank sprocket and pull it up thru the block/cylinder head channel. To reinstall just do the reverse. Insure that the crank is set to top dead center, and set the cams to the correct installed position. The cams should have marks on them which you set even with the cylinder head top surface. And make sure that the chain is ridding correctly on the chain guides. Use your shop guide and you will be o.k.
